Goodbye :-(

I gave it away. I probably should have sold it on Craig's List, but I
just wanted it gone. I have two cars and I only have room for two cars.

I have 6 and only have room for 4... ;)

My last care before I switched to Subarus was a '95 Ford Probe.

(that was a Mazda 626 coupe...)

The Mazda guys called the Ford version "The pretty one".

Pretty, but underpowered and light in the front with the 2 liter 4
cylinder engine. When I turned on the A/C, it was like throwing out an
anchor.

That's easy! My AC doesn't work! ('89 Mazda 626)...

I also have the 5-speed, so I can flog the engine a little more.
It is a 3-valve per cylinder engine, so it has a little more snot than a 2
valver would.

5 speed for me, too, I bought it at the end of the model year, which I
tend to do as manual trans cars are bargains then. Maybe the 626 was a
lighter car, my Probe was a sled; I can't imagine how bad it would
have been with an automatic.

The CT Highway Patrol used to use MX-6s and Probes for radar traps.
They also had Mustang 5.0s as pursuit vehicles. That was back in the late
80's/early 90's.

Mass had a bit more class. One morning on the Mass Pike (rt 90) my radar
detector went off, and the only thing around was a Lincoln MK VII. Two
days later, he had someone pulled over! ;p

Probably the 6 cylinder engine.

Maybe a car picked up in a police "asset forfeiture" scam.

I had the same problem when I rented a Toyota Tercel many years ago. Turned
on the AC at highway speeds and the tires actually chirped. The V6 on the
Escape has plenty of power but is definitely not tweaked like many of the
high performance V6's on the market. It would be very cool if they would
offer the Mustang V6 in the Escape.

Oh! NO! Not another Tercel hater!

There's one in the Toyota group. He bought a BlackHawk (er, WhiteHawk?)
edition thinking the graphics and the spoiler made it a Boy Racer.
Disappointed, big time. I guess he never heard of "test drive".

I had a '95, and it was a good car. With 185/65-14's I ran out of engine
LONG before I lost grip! ;) (It also got 45MPG! I sold it to buy an '88
Supra NA/ SportRoof. It gets 21 MPG. On an 80 degree day with the top off,
Who Cares???? ;) )
