Relative bought used. Thinks it is too low.
Measured ride height, center of wheel to wheel arch (fender) as per repair manual. 14.6 inches front, 15 rear. Specs 15.2 front and 15 rear. So, a bit sagged on the struts.
Tire size 205/55ZR16 on car. Look to be stock size. not sure if the Z makes them squat. Not expecting to go that fast.
The previous owner installed some performance wheels. Look to be 7 1/2 inches wide at least. Looking to go back to stock rims.

Could someone measure ride height from the pavement to the wheel arch with stock tires and wheels? Trying to decide where to start with raising back to at least stock height.

Thanks in advance

When were struts last done? Often neglected maint replace. Likely toast. Imprezas are low to begin with. If ya got the cabbage look into lifted ones. Check rallitek.

My daughter has our 14 impreza at school so sorry cant get u a measurement now. What is mileage. But if struts are original they were toast many years ago. New ones ..even base stock will transform the ride tremendously. Thats where you start...regardless.

Wheel/tire combo and springs set ride height. If your struts are doing that...you have a serious problem.

When I say strut, I am including the complete assembly. Yes, the springs cause sag, but I am not replacing just springs on an 09 vehicle.
Just asking for a measurement to go by.

Gotcha. Springs just about never go bad on modern cars. Strucks/shocks...absolutely. Good luck!

HAHAHA! Struts and shocks are different things...as are springs. You're killing me.

I might be killing you but sure as heck aint educating you. I can only explain i cannot force understanding. Good luck.

Thank the gods for that, as you're wrong.

Springs look like...springs, and support the weight of the vehicles.

Shocks and struts perform the same function as one another, providing a smoother and more controlled ride over irregularities, but they are different items. Struts are located inside of the springs and are mounted as one assembly (once they're connected, with in the car. Shocks are outside of the spring and are, as such, more easily installed.

Sorry, man, but I've got decades of knowledge in this space. What else would you like to learn?

One can buy them preloaded, but in that case, you're replaceing likely known gods and putting them in a landfill to safe yourself time. And this can also mean you're purchasing substandard springs at a different spring rate, altering how your car handles...just sayin'.

The Internet has enough people spreading misinformation. Try a new approach.

My buddy, one of the experts at Ford...who the techs from across the country go to for help, and I are having a great laugh over this exchange. Please tell me that you aren't in the industry..or that you work on..anything, yourself.

"Struts are shocks and spings combined by definition in one assembly." Struts are...as you well know, not shocks and springs combined.

We are each entitled to our own opinions but not our own facts. How about we quit the keyboard war and meet at Panera to discuss..old school human interaction? Back on topic my recommendation to the OP stands and i stand behind all i have posted.

It isn't an opinion. Struts are not shocks combined with springs. We've catered to people who want to be told that they're right, even when they're wrong, for four years now. No more.

Meet you for a meal? Why? You're insulting and helping people learn things that aren't true. If there were a moderator, you'd likely be removed.

I not the type to hide behind a keyboard. Believe what you want dont make it true. I know many ppl i cannot convince of anything. Such are modern times. Peace out

Show me a pic of each of these three items where any two are the same. This isn't hard. It is why I posted pics of the three to show that they are different. If I'm wrong...you need to get you right over to suspension companies like the ones I work with and set them straight. We'll wait... 🤣
