If the driver’s window won’t go down how can you tell if it’s the motor or the switch that needs replaced?

The switch for the driver has controls for all 4 windows, if none of them go up and down ( make sure you don't have the child lock on) then that would be a switch. If it's only the driver window that doesn't work then it would most likely be your motor. But before replacing anything, check your fuses and connectors. Also be aware, that when you disconnect your switch, you may have what happened to us, transmission temperature light blinking, ABS light on and traction control light on. I have a 2010 Subaru Forester that did that. They all went off once we put the new switch on. We went to eBay and bought our switch there, they are very expensive new.
