What year/engine is best?

I want to purchase one for my daughter before she's off to college. I want something reliable for her so I don't have to worry so much. I'm just not sure what years/options are best. Thanks.

Bring what you find to a trusted technician for a front to back inspection.
Oil changes 5,000 miles with a filter and make sure she reads the owners manual.
Winter driving = winter tires on rims.
