Using a later AWD automatic trans Soobie as an "RV Dingy"

I'm retiring, and going thru all of those wild plans.

Snowbirding with a midsize RV/motorhome is intriguing, but you always
need something to do the usual stuff. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'd want
something capable if the dingy becomes a lifeboat.

Both the wife and I have soobs, her's is a 97 OBS (Impreza), mine's a 00
fullsize OB, both auto trans. It'll probably be the 97 OBS as a dingy,
mainly on size/weight.

I know I could just get an "older SUV" like my old Bronco II with a
manual transfer case and just put the hubs "out" and put the T-case in
neutral, but I'd rather do Soobie.

Anybody "been dere, dun dat" on this?

read the manual, it should have a section on towing.

but why would you need/want to tow around a subie (or some other suv)
just as a runabout for 2 people? any small, cheap car with 2 seats and
room for groceries would be a lot easier to manage.

Bugout Buggy.
