Trunk lid rust

I’m seeing tiny dots of rust around the trunk lid. I bought the car new three years ago and it’s in mint condition. I see on other forums that this a known problem. Anyone have experience with this?

After talking to my body shop guy, I learned that it is not rust coming thru the paint. It is bits of metal stuck to the wax on the surface of the paint. They corrode in the salt atmosphere of upstate NY. I gently rubbed them out with a clay bar. It worked great. Be sure to wax the area afterward.
