I have a 04 forester that is ej20x swapped along with a manual swap. The trans that I broke was a 06-07 Impreza transmission. I got a replacement used one out of a 05 Subaru legacy. Everything swapped over fine, except for the speed sensor on side of transmission.. it looks like the old one has a little metal piece that goes into the trans, while the one from the legacy was just plugged. Do I get a speed sensor from a legacy and plug it in?? Or will it not work with the harness on My forester. Also another thing is it doesn’t seem to redline. It stops around 6 thousand and is almost like it doesn’t wanna go anymore. Not a big Subaru guy so any help is appreciated. I was able to redline at 7k with old transmission. Thanks
