Um, did you read the article? Look at the charts?
price as tested - STI was nearly $6K more!!!
I don't think the price comparison of a bloated STI to bare bones
EVO was valid. But, then could you put a price tag
on a dual clutch tranny of Mr?
Yokohama vs Dunlop tires.
advans D007 vs RE070? they should be comparable.
If you trust the RE070 reviewers. The grip is not as much of
an issue as the car behavior in a skid and per review
the evo is joy to skid due to yaw control.
And in sti the reviewers could not get the ass to rotate period.
STI; better mileage, longer range, better braking, more headroom, more
legroom, almost 3 TIMES cargo capacity.
Not 'junk' - just a little lower performance in 2-3 specific areas.(and
overpriced)
I would not call inability to rotate the car "a little lower
performance".
Apparently FHI realizes that and not being able (or willing)
to compete in the driving dynamics area
it just wants to carve a different niche altogether and sell sti as-
is.
It's apples to oranges now: dual clutch and yaw control
vs gps and creature comforts.
I think I already had plenty of boring pieces of shit (TM) and don't
want another one. YMMV.
