Hello! New to the Forum.Daughter has 06 Forester non-turbo LLBean. While driving, the engine started shaking and by the time she got off the highway, there was a stream of oil. Had it towed home. It looks like the oil leak started above her oil filter. So, I'm thinking it's a bad oil cooler rubber gasket that had leaked.I checked the oil and it was very low,but not milky. Later the dipstick showed nothing. Now I'm wondering: Should we throw a couple quarts of oil in and start the car to see how it sounds? Or just have it towed to mechanic? Have a bad feeling about this one. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Never mind. Engine block is destroyed. New Michelins, new brakes, new A/C,new exhaust. Trash.
