Subaru Mechanics in San Gabriel Valley

I'm looking for a good mechanic for my '03 Legacy Wagon. The only Subaru
dealer close by is Sierra Subaru in Monrovia, but I'd rather not go there
because I've heard that they have a bad rep. I bought my car at Timmons
Suburu in Long Beach, but they're kinda far for routine maintenance. Can
anyone recommend a good shop? I live in Alhambra, CA. Thanks in advance!

While visiting the guy I'm dating over Labor Day this year, my 1998 Subaru
Outback Sport decided to quit working. He lives in Covina, and via a local
tow truck driver I got put onto Subie Specialties in Monrovia. I couldn't
have been happier with the service or the price. It would have been nice if
they'd been able to fix the car the next day, maybe, but good repair shops are
busy repair shops and this was no exception.

I *do* wish they'd asked me before putting their custom license plate frames
on my car. :) (I don't like advertising on my car or my tshirts, for some
reason.) I borrowed a screwdriver at the next gas station and left the
unwanted frames in the trash can. But that's my only gripe, and it's minor.

Thanks, I'll have to give them a try when it's time for service. I usually
do the minor things, like fluid changes, myself, but when it's time to have
that alignment checked or the brakes replaced, I'd rather have a
professional work on it.

I just talked to Steve there at Suby Specialties today. Nice guy. He
did some main seal work and my timing belt a while back. He was very
helpful when I talked to him about my head gasket problem.
