Yesterday I brought my 2023 Forester Premium in for its one year check up. All went well, 10,000 miles, no problems, rotated tires, went home. That night I received an email from the dealership offering to sell me a brand new 2025 Forester Premium for $10,489 plus my 2023 Forester. I haven’t taken the time to do the math, but I’ve never known a car dealership to do anyone any favors. That said, is this an offer I should at least consider?

Thanks everyone, Jim

Subarus seem to hold their values more than any other. They can make a profit on two...so why not, from their standpoint.

Everyone who owns a Subaru is eligible for their buy back program after a year. Subarus have the best resale value of any automaker. Even if your Forester gets totaled and you file a claim with insurance, and it is determined a total loss. Your insurance settlement will be similar to your buy back price. I know because I owned a WRX that had extensive hail damage, and insurance covered it. Of course this is not what you want to happen to your Forester, but it will help a lot if it needs to be replaced. Only downside of insurance is your premiums go up. Overall, Subarus are a good investment. If you need another Subaru take advantage of the buy back. Yes, it does benefit the dealership more, but you do get a better price on a new one.

I have an Outback 2020 premium plus options with 3. 8 k miles and I stick to it . It has no much black plastic around the car to take care theses new version as to much black plastic in my opinion. I don't think so the engine as changed since 2020 it's the same we spent 35K plus taxes.
and i don't think so to put more money to get a 25 or 2026 model I stay with my 2020.
If there aren't any issues with the 2023 version stay with it. I don't like dealer they are too sneaky it's all about $$$$.
