Strange Dashboard Light on Subaru Forester 2017 Need Advice

Hello everyone,

I have a 2017 Subaru Forester.

I've noticed a strange light flashing on my dashboard when the engine is completely off. However, once I start the engine, the light disappears. I'm not sure what this light indicates or how to address it.

Could someone advise? Please see the attached file for details.

Could it be an armed alarm system indication?

I believe you're referring to the flashing icon that has a car with a padlock in front of it. This is the security indicator light working to protect your vehicle. Once the vehicle is started that's why it disappears. If you check your manual it will show
Security indicator light
This indicator light shows the status of the
alarm system. It also indicates operation
of the immobilizer system.

I have a 2017 Subaru Outback Touring 3.6 with a factory installed remote starter so I am familiar with the light! lol
