Stick Shift light is out

My 1998 Subaru Legacy station has its
light out located on the stick shift (illuminates the N,R etc.). Does anyone
know where the lightbulb is located for this? It is an automatic. Is is easy
to get to? Any information appreciated.

it's under the same bit of plastic the letters are on.
fucking pain in the arse to get to, is the easiest way to describe it.

you'll probably have to dismantle at least half of the centre console/dash
to get to the bulb, in my experience.
