I own a 2021 Crosstrek with a Starlink remote starter when I purchased it in 2020. The 3-year Starlink has expired, and they want $200 to renew for one year. I went to the dealer and asked if I could have the remote starter without Starlink and they want $1000 to install it (including reprogramming of the 2 fobs).
Does this sound reasonable? I mean, the car already has a starter that can be activated remotely, it's just how the fob communicates with it that needs to change IMHO. Has anyone done this and what was your experience?
Thanks!
