I've got a 2008 Impreza Outback Sport, manual, I've had it for about 2 years now and it's super beat up but has been very reliable.
6 weeks ago: it started up feeling like it wasn't making the same power it used to, when I put it in neutral at probably about 3k rpm while coasting, it stalled. Not a big deal bc I was rolling so I just bump started and kept going.
2 days later I had to replace the starter. It would still intermittently stall when shifting to neutral.
5 weeks ago, started misfiring, giving code p0301 (misfire on 1). The stalling issue totally went away while it had the misfire issue.
I mostly drove my other car until this week when I switched the spark plugs, which fixed the misfire, but as soon as that was fixed, it started stalling again.
I have no idea what it could be, it drives great, idles great, seems like it's making normal power again, and doesn't give any codes. It does occasionally make a rattling sound while driving but I think it's one of the fans. My research suggested that the IAC was the most likely culprit, but my car doesn't have an IAC, so I'm stumped.
Any ideas are appreciated.
