Sound Identification 2008 2.5i manual nonturbo

Any mechanics out there I could use some help. 2008 Subaru Impreza 125k miles nonturbo manual, been working on it for a bit and got a new sound possibly coming from the transmission? Car has newer clutch/coil pack/catalytic converter, brand new timing belt kit/sparkplugs. Fluids look fine and my timing is correct and the tensioner is fine but it wasn't making the sound until after the timing belt change, you could hear it at idle before the new plugs but now its only really noticeable when accelerating, makes the sound whether clutch is in or out, using hollow pipe my pop said no sound from the motor so pistons seem fine but he could hear something similar when he held the pipe at the transmission, any thoughts?
