Hi all, my new (to me) ‘13 Outback sometimes doesn’t start. Accessories light up, everything looks normal. However, when I turn key to actually start car it does nothing. Silence, except for a little click.
I can do things like rotate the key, dance in a circle, get mad/don’t get mad and breath for a minute and like magic the car will start like it should.
The issue isn’t consistent, but has only happened when I’ve already driven the car some distance that day.
Today, while traveling a great distance, it would not start after our pit stops. Every time, 2-20 attempts later it would finally start.
Possible culprit: ignition switch? Starter? Camshaft position sensor?
What should I alert my mechanic to when I return home from this trip?
I’ve got a tool kit, and can try things in the morning before hitting the road for next 500 miles. I’ll check forum here in morning, hoping for insight while I try to catch some Z’s …
Thanks for any and all aide
