Many times I just need to back our 24 Forester out of the car port and drive it to my shop. A distance of about 400 feet. The seat belt chime goes off almost immediately after starting to back up which is annoying enough but less than half way there it increases in volume by twice. I'm not going over 5 to 7 mph. Is there a way to program it to not come on until, say, 15 mph. I know, I could probably pull the seat belt down and latch it before getting in but that is no different than just getting in and buckling and unbuckling up . Have not contacted the dealer yet as I'm pretty sure they would say leave factory setting alone. Maybe last resort. I'm all for seat belts and wear them all the time and not against a warning system. But with any movement of the car!!!!!!!!!!! Any of you out there have the same dislike? Anyone know how to remedy other than hooking the seat belt before getting in? Thanks for your interest.
