I have a 2017 Legacy. When I contacted Subaru I was shocked to find there is no manufacturer certified roof racks available for this model. Since most cars no longer have rain gutters the only aftermarket options I could find were:
1. Roof racks using nylon webbed belts that go through the windows causing wind noise and reducing headroom (Eeech!)
2. Roof racks that go into the door jams that damage the door gaskets (double Eeech!)
3. Roof racks that use suction cups. Each suction cup supposedly holds approx 200lbs of force but not sure what the aerodynamic lift factor is of four pairs of skis going 75+mph. Scary thought of a little rubber suction cup loosing its grip (triple Eeech!)
Any ideas???
