Hi, I have a Subaru forester 2014, diesel
I replaced both lights on the rear registration plate a month ago. A couple of days ago one had already blown. Yesterday I discovered that both were blown which was strange. I bought new lights and put them in. But they didn't light. Then I discovered that the rear parking lights also didn't work. The trailer socket is now without power.
I have used the trailer socket recently and it worked, albeit defectively. The defect in the socket that I have noticed is that the turn signal flashes about 3 times faster when the right turn signal is used with the trailer socket connected. I therefore believe that the new fault is also traced to the trailer connector.
I have tried replacing the fuses according to the instruction manual, for example no. 1 and 14 by the driver's seat, but that doesn't help. The fuses that were installed also look intact.
Are there other fuses that I should check? Is there a fuse under the engine heads that should be checked?
(Brake, turn signals and tail lights work) Why don't the lights and sockets work if no fuse is blown?
If it's not just changing the trailer connector, what could be the problem?
