reading codes from ODBI to ODBII with converter cable

I have a 94 Legacy wagon 2.5, auto trans. It has the ODBI connector. Can I read the codes with a ODBII reader if I use the connector conversion cable?

I know the autos are. I think the standards are obd 1 though.

That's my thinking also. I'll post results. I was seeing if anyone has actually done this.

Not quite sure what you mean. The autos are what? The standards are what? I assume the read-out from the 94 Legacy are ODBI. Just wondering if I can get a ODBII reader to recognize the codes. Thanks.
