I own a 2005 Forester automatic.
An acquaintance owns a late model Forester with a stick. Recently, one
of his warning lights came on (check engine?) and the car began driving
eratically: It would slip out of cruise control, maybe some other
issues. The dealer determined that a plastic gear in the transmission
had sheared, and replaced it under warranty. Sorry I am sketchy on
details, the story was relayed by a friend of the friend.
Does this make sense to anyone?
Can you clarify the problem?
