I accidentally ran over a skunk over a month ago with my new 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness, and since then, I've been working very hard at getting the smell off, using the recommended chemicals (hydrogen peroxide, liquid dish soap, and baking soda). I had the tires replaced because it wouldn't come off a particular section of the right rear tire, and now the smell on the same section of the inner edge of the right rear wheel. No matter how many times I try to remove it, it keeps coming back, even if it seems at first to be gone. Am I going to have to have the wheel replaced too?

Remove the plastic panel(s) and use tomato juice.

And a pressure washer.

Tomato juice does nothing but mask the odor. It does not remove it.

I've got an appointment to get the wheel and all 4 tires replaced. I guess that's the only solution left.
