Parts upgrades EJ253 Baja Sport

I have an 06 Baja and I am rebuilding the EJ253 in it. What are some of the things/upgrades I can do to get it to produce at least 250 bhp? New to this and I don't really want to go through all the hassle of converting it to a turbo.
