Recently the light that displays the clock time on my 2001 Forester went out. Is there a bulb? How do you replace it?

Just googled the problem. My 2001 has a LCD board. And like others a solder joint at an electronic component at the back of the board (with the number “510” on it, was broken. I resoldered it and presto. My clock is working again. Unfortunately I was unable to post the link but I think anyone with a early Forester having the same problem could simply google it to find the simple resolution.

Ah here is the excellent video on YouTube on how to fix the LCD board. Hopefully others will now also be able to fix their clock on the older Subaru’s too.
