I've heard good things about Motul Gear 300 75W90 gear lube, and
I'm thinking of trying some for my 2004 WRX. I'm currently using
Red Line 75W90NS, which went in at less than 4K miles (It's approaching
15K miles). The Red Line seems to be better than the
stock fluid, but I've heard recommendations that Gear 300 has
gotten better results (and is a fully-compliant API GL-5).
I'm not sure where to find it locally (SF Bay Area). I found a
couple of online sources that also sell the Motul DOT 5.1 brake
fluid I've been looking for. I figure it's be about $10-15 to
ship the four liters of gear oil plus maybe six bottles of the
brake fluid.
