Low oil

Every couple thousand miles the low oil light comes on in my 2012 Impreza, and I have to add a quart of oil. I had my mechanic and dealer check for leaks and none were found. What is the cause and solution to this?

This is a pretty common problem, covered in this article here:

The article says the solution may be to replace the "short block" in other words, pretty much the whole engine. If it were me, I'd just check my oil about once a month and top it off as needed. Don't forget to also occasionally replace the oil filter.
