low idle adjustment 03 baja?

Brian

I have a 2003 subaru baja that idles very lowly when stopped in drive.
It rumbles and vibrates the entire car and I've heard that theres some
screw that I can adjust to fix this. Is this true? If so, where is this
screw?

The idle is computer-adjusted and there is no way to manually adjust
it. If you try to mess with it by playing with the throttle stop or
cable the ECU will just fight with you and adjust it back to where it
was.
Are you sure that the idle speed is actually too low, or could it just
be that something is vibrating that shouldn't be? Perhaps a heat
shield is loose or the exhaust is contacting the body someplace, or an
engine mount could be bad. If the idle were truly out of range you
would probably see the check engine light.

My 2001 does this sometimes too. You may try (odd as it sounds),
disconnecting the battery over night. This supposedly initiates
retraining of the engine controller and should resolve the issue. The
ECU is supposed to prgromatically regulate the idle speed.

HTH some at least.
