to put a spare battery for your keyless remote in the glovebox.

I just went thru a 30 minute ordeal with a mall security dweeb when I
triggered the alarm by using the key.

Rat Shack had the battery, so I bought two, one for the dead one in the
remote and one for the glovebox. When I rebatted the remote, the dweeb
finally believed I owned the car. He wouldn't accept a valid
registration and a matching driver's license as proof that it was MY
car....

Needless to say I made a scathing call to the mall's management.

Why would you even take 30 seconds of shit from a scumbag *Security
Guard*???
Tell him to **** off and go away. They do not have any Police Powers, are
nothing
but minimum-wage "Wannabees". They are one step below "Burger Flipper"
They walk around for close to nothing, because thats all they can do.

I'm sure you will keep this in mind when your car is stolen and a
security guard chimes in "I was going to stop him, but he showed me
some papers that looked real, but I'm just a "mimimum wage wanabee"
and I'm one step below a "burger flipper" and I have no police powers
eventhough my job is keep an eye on the parking lot." Not only should
you keep this in mind, you should realize you deserved no help from
this security guard.

If I remember right, by turning the ignition on and off three times the
alarm will be disabled. I drive a 2006 wrx, i'm not sure if this applies to
earlier models or not.

On my 2000 OBW, it's 5 times . If you can't remember, just keep cycling
the ignition switch till the damned thing shuts up.

I replace the batteries in both keys...current
and spare every Xmas...wife and daughters'
car keys as well, they're cheap enough.
Definitely not a 'fit and forget' item.
I have no idea how long they last and have no wish
to find out the hard way.
