Hi there!!

I've have few question about my subaru impreza wagon 1993. it have an autom.
transmission.

#1 : can you tell me if it's normal that when it's like about -25 or -30
degre C the steering wheel is very hard to turn. Even in summer, my subaru's
steering is much harder to turn than my Toyota Tercel. The tercel steering
is very smooth . Do all the impreza are made like this?

#2 : Is it normal that my impreza is just running at 500 rpm when the
transmission is at "Drive" when I'm not rolling? This problem often occurs
when the weather goes very down lik e-30 degree C in winter. the motor is
working but it looks like if he want to stop .

Thank you very much and sorry for english mistakes

Maybe not. In general, power steering on my Impreza 93 is on a
looser side of what I like. However, at -30C *everything* is very
hard to turn - the wheel, the engine, the gears. All goes aways
when the car warms up in about five minutes.

Mine is manual transmission but it always idles at ~ 740 and it's
not uncommon to see ~ 500 on the tachometer when it's very cold.
Never died on my on 10 years yet.
