Wife would like either a Forester or Outback as our next car. (most likely our last) I'm reading about some issues (not here-other internet related news stories) with keeping the front end aligned properly, premature tire wear, front lower control arms failing - not in warranty, plus head gasket issues due to engine design-cooling rear cylinders (flat 4).
This info could all be non issues/fake news or real. We keep cars for at least 15 years/150K miles and don't have a lot of money to waste on unreliable vehicles.
Thought I would go to the source for some 'tribal knowledge' from those in the know....Thank you in advance. Lou

Bump....
I'm hoping no replies means my questions in regards to longevity issues are unfounded??

We had an Outback that for the first few years would burn thru front tires in half of the usual miles. Always kept in alignment with NO major adjustments. Then it was aligned again and stopped eating up the front tires, so it could be a rare thing that pops up.

I am needing help with corporate and their Distance Rule on Ascents. Please.
