Hi all, I have a fantastic 2011 Outback in better-than-great condition, but I have an airbag light on my dashboard which is preventing me from getting the car inspection in my state.

The shop determined that it is the right hip airbag in the passenger seat, and that to resolve the issue the entire airbag will need to be replaced. However, this airbag seems to no longer be available, there are no parts for it throughout the north east and elsewhere from what I have been told.

Someone has suggested that I confirm that the airbag is in fact the problem by disconnecting the relay and using a resistor to confirm that the light goes off on the dashboard.

I am here to find suggestions and answers on how to isolate and prove this trouble via a resistor, or where to find a spare airbag. I have tried junkyards to no avail. I have also seen on the forum that people have run into additional instrument panel cluster issues when replacing their seats.

I am wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions on the type of resistor or a way to isolate the trouble on the dashboard to confirm that it is in fact the airbag and not something else.

Any advice would be highly appreciated!
