Head gasket under warranty?

S

Steve

I have a 2001 Outback with 93,000 on it. The shop found the left side
cylinder head gasket and seals to be leaking. They replaced them, the timing
belt, and a bunch of other odds and ends with all of it (except the belt
itself) being under warranty.
Now.....my extended warranty had expired so just exactly WHAT warranty was I
covered by????? I was pleasantly surprised but it was late and I didn't want
them to change their minds. LOL

There can be certain problems that might not be discovered until
it reaches "critical mass", but could have started earlier.

Sometimes the dealer service dept or a district service manager
will authorize such a repair - even if discovered after the
warranty period expired.

You might have just caught the guy on a good day.
