Gas guage sender unit

In the fuel tank...it's part of the pump and there is an access cover so you
don't need to lower the tank. Why do you want to know? If the gauge is
reading poorly these can usually be cleaned and tensioned rather than
replaced. TG

Lift the carpet in the trunck area behind the driver's side rear seat,
should be a big round access cover, remove the cover, the sending unit/fuel
pump is on the round cover screwed on top of the tank. The screws holding
the cover on the tank will probably be seized on, try turning them out and
in until you get movement, apply a penetrating oil and keep working them
slowly until they come off.
Disconnect the wiring, the sender/pump come off with the cover. Try cleaning
the contact area where the sender rubs with an eraser, this usually is the
problem.
Re-connect the wiring for the sender only, not the pump as it will be
running dry, and move the float up and down and see if the gauge now works
(stuff the open hole in the tank with rags BEFORE connecting any wiring).
