Engine cut off/possible BCM?

My son's 2008 Outback lost power while driving. Once I got to him, I realized that the car had all dash lights when the ignition is on, but no power to any of the accessories(no wipers/power windows/power locks/radio/HVAC control, etc.). It also wouldn't turn over or shift out of park. However, the fan for the HVAC blows when the ignition is on. Am I correct in thinking that the body control module has shorted out, or maybe there is another computer link gone bad? All help is appreciated!

It could be a lot of things. You need to have the car diagnosed by a really good mechanic that can diagnose having a great background in diagnosing your car. On you; tube: Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics (Ivan) located in Pennsylvania.
Also MR Subaru1387 you tube located in South Caroline.
You may or may not need any computers. Paul
