Does my Subaru have EGR valve?

I have a 1994 Legacy and am trying to find the egr valve. I am pretty
good at working on cars and know my way around an engine for minor
repairs. I can not find this egr valve. I followed the vacume hose
from the backflow thing and went right to the spark plug electrical
spot. The lay out on the hood for the vacume hoses does not show the
EGR valve anywhere. I shows the purge valve solenoid which was showing
up as needing to be replaced on the trouble code. Any ideas where the
EGR valve? any pics of it/

Don't think that year had one but if it does, there has to be a
stainless steel line that runs from one of the exhaust ports up to the
EGR valve that will be attached to the backside of the intake
manifold, probably on the driver's side.

I know for some years only the automatics had EGRs, and the manuals
did not. Not sure of the year though.

It appears Soobs have had them from about 1990, so likely yours does.

Just remembered I have a 93 2.2 w/4EAT out in the shed. Went out and
checked it and no EGR.

I'm surprised. I can get a 3.3L Chrysler engine for my Grand Caravan for
$99, but a 2.2 costs ~$1200!!!

Subie engines are in demand. Not only do they last forever, but they
are light and easily maintained. A friend of mine parted out a 1980
rusted out station wagon and got 300 bucks for the motor in a matter
of hours after listing it. This was just a plain old subaru engine
with nearly 210k miles on it. It was going to be rebuilt and put in a
plane. They're great engines.
