Hi, I have a 2018 Impreza sedan and when it was purchased the dealer included at no cost to me a "Standard" Mechanical Protection Plan which runs in conjunction with the statutory 3 year 175,000km warranty then continues for another 5 years.
The car is coming up to the second annual service and have been notified by the dealer the service is due. Out of curiosity I contacted an organisation who do log book services - everything the dealer does - and they quoted my just on $100 less to do the same service. Under the terms of the MPP if I don't use the dealer for the services the DPP is voided.
So the question is - do I say no thanks to the dealer and save many hundreds, perhaps thousands over the life of the car on services and void the DPP or do I go to the dealer and keep the DPP. Please see attached .pdf showing what is covered under the "Standard" cover.
I am inclined to forget about the dealer but I welcome your thoughts
TIA
Greg
