I'm new to the forum and I thought I'd join because I'm thinking of buying either a Crosstrek hybrid or a Forester hybrid and I thought I'd perform my due diligence and get as much data as possible before I make a decision.

Hybrids can be a nice choice with EVs production slowing down while normalcy sets back into our country. How do they compare to other brands? Hybrids are pretty new for Subaru compared to others. Also worth noting that all CVTs are not the same. Nissans grenade with regularity. Honda seems to have figured it out with a different design than Subaru has been using.

Welcome. Wife just got '25 Forester Touring. She LOVES it. Seems like a very well built vehicle. This is our first Subaru, and from what I've read and heard, it won't be our last.

I will not comment on the EV aspect as I have no experience with them, I do feel that they will NOT work for me at this time.
My wife (now retired) drove a gas Forester (her own car) on a 57 mile rural (think some dirt roads) US mail route with 550 stops every day. I changed front brakes every 8kmi and rears every 13kmi. All the Subi cars gave about 120k trouble free miles. She replaced the Foresters about every 5 or 6 years with new. A very good and durable vehicle in my opinion.

She has been retired 11 yrs. and we still drive a Forester (2024) and it is a really nice riding car IMO.

My daughter in law just turned in her 2013 Forrester. It had served her well as a safe reliable car with her kids and going to work. Take note of the features that even our Benz doesn't have.

Currently driving a 2022 XV (Crosstrek) hybrid in UK. Great car and much better on fuel than the previous 2019 petrol XV we had. In my opinion a better built car than the 4 Lexus I previously owned (the last one costing double the cost of a new XV). Don't forget that the hybrid drivetrain on a Subaru has been built with Toyota expertise. The big difference is that with Lexus you can force EV mode for a couple of miles . Subaru does its own thing!
