clutch problem?

I have a 1996 Subaru Legacy AWD with a standard transmission.
Recently the clutch burned out and I had it replaced. The problem now
is that when you start the car it feels like the emergency brake is
on, but it is not. You can force it to get it going but is feels like
something is grinding. Once you get it moving there are no more
problems until you shut it off and start it again. This doesn't
happen every time but at least 50% of the time. I have it at my
mechanics shop right now, but he is not a Subaru dealer and is not
sure what is causing the problem. Thanks for any help in advance.

Could be the tie rod stabalizer link kit rubbing on the turbo affecting the
oil pan THIS will cause the rad fluid to boil over and make the e-brake
engage.. This is where you get scared.. If you don't get this fixed.. the
cd player will no longer read burnt cd's :)

I am guesssing but they may have bent a tooth on the prs plate
when istalling it... I did it on a mustang once and it did the same
thing...was only bent a bit but caused it to grab enough to feel like the
e-brake was on.. I know... I know, a mustang is not a subaru.. just sounds
like the same problem..

Sounds like the hill holder needs adjusted--it's down under the master
cylinder
