Clutch issued

I have a 2013 Forester, owned 1 year. It is a manual and recently Im having to push all the way to the floor on the clutch to engage reverse upon starting up in the morning. After I drive a short time it seems to not require going all the way to the floor. Before I seek mechanical help could someone share their advise of what may be causing this and what kind of help to request? Im a 66 yr old single female and I try to educate myself as much as possible in order to know what Im looking for in possible repairs. Thanks so so much to your advise!!
