Clunking when accelerating especially uphill and car is skidding/stuck.
I have a Subaru Legacy BRM 2012, currently at 198,000KM mileage. I have had this clunking/kicking noices from the rear side for a while now.

The noice happens in two scenarios:

1. When making sharp corners, can be on a flat surface or also uphill, going forward direction either to the left or right, you would hear the kicking/clunking noises, can be smooth but not very loud

2. When going uphill, assume an offroad situation where the rear wheels of the vehicle are inside a ditch, so the car gets stuck in that ditch, now it needs more power to the back wheels to push the car out of the ditch, the kicking sound becomes even more noticeable and even louder anytime I hit accelerate to move the car out of the ditch.

Initially I got the mechanic to check it out and we ended up diagnosing the rear differential, we opened it and the teeth looked all intact and perfect, rotations were also smooth.

Eventually, only problem noticed was the rear wheels bearings hub, they were super old and "on rotate" you could hear them making some hard scratching sounds, like metal squeezing against each other, clearly the bearings were beat! I replaced them with new ones for the rear wheels. So this ended up fixing the point number #1 above. The clunking noises when taking sharp corners was no more!

Now it leaves the issue number #2, still pending and I am currently unsure what the problem could be hence this long post to try to highlight my current troubles with my Subaru Legacy BRM

I've attached audio recording describing issue number #2 when it happened, I was stuck on a small hill while offroading, you will hear the clunking/kicking sounds in that recording as I was pressing accelerate.

Audio Recording:

Thanks
