I tried multiple times to start the motor unsuccessfully. After reconnecting the cleaned negative battery terminal strange clicking sounds were being emitted from some module under the hood. The instrument panel lamps were flashing and the tach & speedometer needles were moving back and forth. When I depressed the start button everything went blank and nothing worked.
I finally disconnected the neg. battery cable and let the car rest for about a half hour or less and then reconnected the terminal to the battery. The vibrating sound reappeared and I executed a normal start proceedure. To my amazement the motor started immediately as it normally does.
All appears well now. The car is behaving normally.
Thanks for any intended assistance.
FYI: 2017 Forester, 50,000 miles fully loaded model.
