Check engine light rab disabled eyesight disabled out of nowhere

I have a 2021 Legacy Touring and that happens frequently to me. It then restores and functions properly. My dealer has no explanation.

When that happened to me twice it ended up being a faulty thermo control valve that was going bad… and when it went all the way bad I was on the expressway doing 75mph with loads of trucks around me… my Outback suddenly lost speed went down to 20mph… I barely got off without getting run over…. I crawled back to a dealer where it was replaced. I was pissed. Check it out … good luck.

This happened to me. Took my 2020 to the dealer. Bad thermal control valve. Replaced under recall.

Mine never got recalled. it just went bad but I made sure I had the upgraded part when it did get replaced.. no cost to me except it scared the livin’ crap out of me on the the highway.

Tighten the gas cap! A check engine light will temporarily disable eyesight and other safety controls. It’s really dumb, but that’s what happens.
