Hi All -

I have a 2019 Subaru outback with just 27,005 miles. Four times in the last month it has not started. It’s. It’s now at the dealers again (3rd time). They have not been able to identify the issue. It will eventually start if you let the car sit for about four hours. I noticed last night that when I went to unlock the car, the lights stayed on longer than what they should have (wasn’t the quick normal flash of light on unlock) - like a minute. Got in and it wouldn’t start yet again. It’s very frustrating - already had to have it towed over 100+ miles from home. Has anyone had a similar issue? I was told battery and all the cables look good. The car does start up again after letting it sit a long period of time. Thanks for any information you can give me, I appreciate it.

Fuel pump ⁉️. Add MMO Marvel Mystery Oil to your tank. If pump is needed, don’t buy complete assembly, As fuel pump is available separately.

Define doesn't start. Do lights all look like full power with the key on? Does it turn over or not? Is it still on the same tank of fuel, if it does turn over. Nearly all fuel has water in it these days and that can wreak havoc. It does on my cars/bikes.

Thank you all for your feedback, I appreciate it. I Just got the car back, and they replaced the battery (partially covered under the battery recall issue). Fingers crossed :)

Update: The car has been back to the dealership four times in two months for the same issue. It had to be towed in twice. I am out of state on vacation, and now the car will not start again. It will require yet another tow to the dealership. This will be the FIFTH time to the dealership for the same issue in 10 weeks. The odometer just turned to 27K. I get it's difficult to diagnose when an error code is not thrown. Isn’t there some type of old school logic, used prior to codes being thrown, that they can use to start narrowing the issue down to identify the problem? At this point I would never recommend a Subaru to anyone - especially a brand new one. ☹️

Invoke the lemon law. Don't waste your time going through this any more.

Looked it up. Sounds like it has to be prior to 10K ☹️. Thanks for your help and feedback - appreciate it. As a FYI - went out this morning and it started (after not starting twice yesterday - hours apart for each attempt).

Next step is to try the owner of the dealership. Next step after that is Subaru directly. It may be worthing calling them first to get a record of it. Supply all of the service records. They're an excellent company.
