Brake light switch is WRONG!

Hello all. New here. I have a ‘14 Crosstrek. Lots of dash lights on. Abs, traction, brake, hill assist….
I’ve studied the common problems and determined it was probably the brake light switch. I tried to adjust-no help. It was cracked on the side. I ordered a new one. Mine does NOT come off with the quarter turn and pull. It has a nut. Two actually. Mine also has a pigtail jumper between switch and the harness. The pigtail does not fit the new switch but the harness does.

How can I make the new switch fit? The old one broke because I wondered if it really did have the quarter turn and pull. (I had taken nut off a few times trying to adjust). When I tried to turn and pull it broke.

Pics attached for demonstration. Old switch is black and silver. New is blue and brown.
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Ps. The car seems to work just fine. Brake lights worked fine. Cruise did not.

When I go back to my garage I’ll get the codes I read. One actually said brake light switch.
