Blind Spot Detection

I have the Crosstrek Pro with the Blind Spot upgrade. Isn't it supposed to make noise when something is in my blind spot?

All mine does is light a warning lite on the outside rear view mirrors when something is in my blind spot. Makes sense since you should be checking it before making a lane change. I imagine an audible warning would get very old very fast. Imagine it going off constantly on a crowed rush hour freeway.

I went to the dealership yesterday and learned that none of the models offer this.
