Automatic time change Fall & Spring

Hi,
My 2018 Outback will not sync the clock with my iPhone, even though the settings are on “automatic “ time change.
What’s the secret to getting my iPhone to tell my car to change the time automatically every Fall and Spring when we fall back and spring forward? I always end up changing the clock manually.
