Hi Everyone

have a 2015 Impreza 2.0i, yesterday while parked and idle, AT temperature light came on dash.

CVT fluid is 20k old and level is perfect.

is this a recall on sensor or where is sensor..

appreciate feedback

The CVT transmissions require the correct OEM fluids. The AT temperature sensor is built within the internal wiring harness. If for any reason the warning lamp is ON, have the vehicle scanned and capture the OBD Freeze Frame that will indicate the criteria as to why the lamp is ON and what is associated to the fault.
The radiator should also be looked at for obstructions or damage, the radiator cools the ATF fluid.

Consider a Hayden 679 cooler if the transmission is working harder than average with added loads.
Also consider a CVT oil analysis.

After you response Ecmbuster, I scan the car has no codes when light was just on.
I also replaced coolant and replace leaking radiator hose.

AT light did not return for until 6pm yesterday while driving on highway, then I stopped and restarted engine AT light was gone.

I got home check for leaks found coolant was a little low in reservoir But radiator was full.

Now I am wondering if I need to take to dealer or professional to be scanned.

this problem with 2015 Subaru Impreza seems to be a strange one .

With the correct scan tool, the CVT transmission temperature can be monitored and tested to measure if it is overheating and if the temperature sensor operates correctly.

I notice that in mornings and at night I get no AT light only after 3pm up to 6pm after a day, so warm ambient temperature is affecting sensor.

question how is that in harness sensor replaced if it bad “. As I don’t see a part number or temp sensor listed

The temperature sensor is built within the Control Valve Body. It is an assembly.
View the bottom of the diagram. Again, check for the correct type of fluid, level and the components that cool the CVT fluid (Radiator, cooler, any restrictions on any cooler)
