Apple Carplay not working with iPhone 15 2021 Subaru Legacy

2021 Subaru Legacy premium. Unable to use Apple Carplay with a USB A to USB C cord. Any suggestions? Limited to Bluetooth for phone calls at present. Thanks
 
Problem solved. Requires a USB A to USB c cable capable of transmitting data in addition to charging. Quick purchase on Amazon.
