Android Auto doesn't connect after update

I just updated software on my Outback 2019 and now Android Auto doesn't connect. It shows "connecting" on the phone after I plug it in, but then nothing happens. It worked before update.

Anyone experienced same issue?

Yes. Now my ApplePlay doesn't work. The software update "fixed" a problem I didn't have. Now a function I used every day (ApplePlay) doesn't work. I am NOT happy. IPhone is connected and software shows "no device connected." I am also nervous that if this software is flawed, what does that say about the safety software?
